A group of people watching an outdoor dance performance

A series of interactive, practical workshops led by our expert consultants, exploring the four phases of a people-centred audience development process:

•    Discover: understanding audience potential in context
•    Define: focusing on audience needs in an actionable way
•    Develop: designing and testing new ideas with and for audiences
•    Deliver: embedding, reviewing and adapting plans across the whole organisation

Who are these workshops for?

These events are for anyone working in a UK arts, culture or heritage organisation who is interested in refreshing their audience development strategy, or creating one from scratch. They are most likely to be appropriate for those in marketing roles, however anyone with an interest in, or responsibility for, audience development in their organisation is very welcome to attend.

Workshop 1: Design thinking for Audience Development - Understanding Audiences
Wed 3 June: 11am - 1pm

This session will help you take a step back and ask some essential questions: What do we want to change? Who are our current audiences? Who aren’t we reaching yet? And what do we need to know to make better decisions?

Workshop 2: Design thinking for Audience Development - What Audiences Need
Tue 7 July: 2pm - 4pm

Workshop 3: Design thinking for Audience Development - Designing and Testing
Wed 16 Sept: 2pm - 4pm

Workshop 4: Design thinking for Audience Development - Reviewing and Adapting
Wed 21 Oct: 2pm - 4pm

You can book just one workshop, or any combination of all four.

Please note:

  • You can book your place(s) now, but to help us plan the workshops effectively, you will be asked to confirm your attendance nearer the time.
  • The sessions are interactive, we'd suggest you log in from a place where you are able to speak and join in with the conversation.
  • Due to the nature of some of the tools used during the session, you will find it easier to join from a laptop or desktop computer, rather than a smartphone.
