Rob has worked in the creative and cultural sector for over 40 years having started his career as an actor, writer and director following training at Rose Bruford College of Speech & Drama. His work at Creative & Cultural Skills saw him lead their National Skills Academy working across various sectors including live music, dance, museums and heritage. Previously he was at Arts Council England as a Senior Officer, and also worked as Associate Director (Education) at the Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Rob now works as the Head of Education and Skills at the Confederation of British Industry, and has been a speaker and panel chair on numerous occasions as well as writing various articles on skills, arts and education matters alongside his own poetry anthology. Rob joined The Audience Agency having been the Chair at the Mercury Theatre Colchester, the Vice Chair at the Queens Theatre Hornchurch and Chair of Company of Angels (now Boundless Theatre).
