Join us for the first event in the Creative Places Exchange. This session is a practical introduction to place and audience data for people working in and with local authorities, place-based partnerships, and cultural networks and consortiums.

With growing demands from funders and stakeholders for evidence-based decisions, places are increasingly required to make clearer, more confident choices. This exchange is designed to show how this can be achieved in practice. We will explore the nuances of National, Local, and Hyperlocal (street-level) data, examining their unique characteristics and applications.

We will talk about:

What data exists, where it is, what the limitations are.

Share how data can be used to support strategy, funding bids, and delivery.

Open the floor for discussion:

We would like to hear from you. What are you working on? What are you looking for help with or interested in?

You don't need to have experience with data or our work. The focus of this series is on shared learning, practical insight, and support.

Who is the event for?

Local authority officers working across culture, regeneration, planning, economy or communities

Members of place-based partnerships, consortia and networks

Arts, cultural, heritage and creative organisations involved in place-based work

Anyone working on Creative and Cultural strategies, Town or City of Culture bids, Pride in Place or Community Planning

About Creative Places Exchange 2026

This series of online events has been designed to support individuals and organisations who are influencing, designing, and advocating for place-based work and cultural regeneration.

Delivered by The Audience Agency, each event will revisit the key elements of place-based practice… People, Place and Culture – and how they can be applied together.

We will share valuable insight from our work with local authorities, place-based partnerships and cultural organisations across England, Scotland, Wales and internationally, including:

  • Strategic planning
  • Civic and Community Engagement
  • Creative and cultural programming
  • And data insight as custodians of data from over 20 million households

Who is it for? And Why?

This series is open to all, but has been designed for individuals and organisations, including local and combined authorities, place-based partnerships and networks, and organisations shaping culture, community, and place.

Places are navigating major change: local government reorganisation, rising expectations around evidence, participation, and impact.

The Creative Places Exchange offers a practical space to explore how combining data, people, and culture supports confident, inclusive decision making for better places.

At the end of each event, you can book in a 30 minute, 1-1 conversation with our team to discuss your place needs*. We’re here to help.
