Creative Europe - UK participation
UK participation after Britain's withdrawal from the European Union on 31st January 2020.
The Creative Europe Desk in the EU has provided this useful update on participation and application to the EU Creative Europe funding strand following Britain's EU exit.
The update outlines, among other things, that The UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has advised:
- Under the Withdrawal Agreement negotiated with the EU, the UK will continue to participate in programmes funded under the current 2014-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) until their closure.
- UK entities can continue to bid for new grant funding under the current MFF...

More about the Galway 2020, Capital of Culture seminars
Encatc International Evaluation Working Group
Maastricht, 12th and 13th March 2020. The meeting is free to attend but registration is required.
The next in the regular series of the International Working Group on Evaluation explores the impact of art fairs and temporary visual arts events at the local and regional level. It will be taking place alongside the European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht (TEFAF).
Amongst the topics to be considered is the effect on local communities of such events in terms of its relationship to cultural tourism (both positive and negative) and the trend of temporary art fairs as compared to permanent exhibition spaces.

Europeana
The Europeana Foundation and its Europeana Network Association champion shared heritage, especially working on the way in which digital online public access can be encouraged.
Especially interesting is their ‘Unsplash for Education’ initiative, in which thousands of images are shared on the Unsplash platform for use in a variety of education situations.
The association has also launched an education community list for those interested in discussing and collaborating around digital cultural heritage.

European Diploma of Cultural Project Management
Application deadline extended to 15th February 2020
The European Diploma of Cultural Project Management which is now in its 31st year has extended the deadline for the 2020 cohort to 15 February 2020 so you just about have time to apply. Run by the Association Marcel Hicter in Brussels and this year featuring sessions in Croatia and Portugal it is especially relevant for anyone running or contemplating running international co-operation projects.
