New and noteworthy
- We recently joined CAE, Culture Action Europe for our first CAE-UK Hub meeting. It was great to feel connected to European colleagues and find out more about EU budget proposals for cultural funding.
- Birmingham Museums Trust has announced plans to create a ‘Cultural Citizenship Research Centre', part of a new five year plan. It comes as the trust publishes its five year strategy to 2030.
- In more West Midlands news, The West Midlands Combined Authority has announced a new Night Time Economy Commission after figures from the Night Time Economy Market Monitor show Birmingham has seen a 27.5% drop in late-night venues since 2020. Supporting the night-time economy to thrive is part of a wider package set out in the West Midlands Growth Plan for the ‘everyday economy’.
- We'll be at the European Audience Data Alliance forum in Aarhus in November to join conversations about how cities and cultural clusters can engage more effectively with their existing and future audiences, as well presenting on cultural data standards.
