FreeTxt was developed by Cardiff University and Lancaster University as part of an AHRC-funded collaborative research project – 'FreeTxt supporting bilingual free-text survey and questionnaire data analysis'. With analysis available in English and Welsh, Audience Answers users can undertake up to six text analysis methods, including Meaning Analysis, Sentiment Charts, Summarisation and Word Clouds.

FreeTxt has swiftly become a valuable complementary partner option for cultural organisations using Audience Answers surveys to analyse the free-text responses they receive from their audiences. Through ongoing consulting with cultural organisations, we will continue to explore how analysis functionality in this capacity can be further used to support strategic objectives and data-driven audience development.

We'd like to thank the teams at Cardiff and Lancaster Universities for their support and collaboration in using FreeTxt.

"It has been fantastic to collaborate with Cardiff and Lancaster Universities on integrating FreeTxt within Audience Answers. This partnership has brought powerful and accessible text analysis tools to our users, enhancing their ability to derive meaningful insights from free-text responses. We look forward to continuing our work together to further develop and refine these capabilities in support of the cultural sector."

Stephen Miller, Chief Technology Officer, The Audience Agency

"With FreeTxt, we set out to save time and money in analysing survey and questionnaire responses in both English and Welsh in a systematic and verifiable way. Our goal is to ensure that every response is truly read, valued, and heard, while widening user access and promoting equality in language analysis."
