Emma has been Chief Exec of The Queen’s Hall since February 2025, having worked as the Head of Marketing and Development at the venue since 2018. She previously worked in film exhibition, marketing, and customer relations across various sectors. The Queen’s Hall is a Georgian church, converted into an intimate venue in 1979. It presents all genres of music, alongside great comedy and spoken word, and plays host to the various Edinburgh festivals, world-class artists and amateur and educational groups. Nina Simone, Nick Cave, Pulp, Blur, Adele, Coldplay, PJ Harvey, Nicola Benedetti, Courtney Pine, Mitski, Lewis Capaldi, Olivia Dean and Self Esteem are just a few of the artists to have graced the stage. The venue now looks towards its 50th anniversary, with accessibility, diversity and inclusivity at the forefront of its programme. Can AI help us with this? We’re trying to find out!
Emma has a passion for live music, attending 50 gigs to celebrate her 50th birthday, and lives by (and sometimes in) the sea just outside Edinburgh with her rescue dog, two rescue cats and husband, who may or may not be a rescue. She wishes she was Icelandic and will bore you about the place for hours given half a chance.
