Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Digital Snapshot, bringing you all the latest digital news, ideas, tips and guidance for the arts, culture, museums and heritage world.

TikTok nearly got banned in the USA. Part of the reason it didn't was by agreeing to their data being routed through Oracle's cloud infrastructure. Now, Oracle is auditing TikTok's algorithm and content moderation models to ensure they aren't being manipulated by the Chinese government.

You may have noticed a shift in tone in the White House's Twitter account, and it's because Megan Coyne - the voice of the viral New Jersey government twitter account - is now in charge. (No.10 Downing Street - if you're reading and want to employ me, I don't want to work for you because you're terrible.)
- Amazon's 7 rules for writing memos is genuinely good advice, though it misses out rule no.8: 'Instead of using the word 'Union', use the phrase 'Commie scum'.'
- People get tied up trying to understand what digital storytelling means. It means telling stories. That's it.

Seb Chan published his keynote at the ICOM 2022 conference: Museums and technology, a gentle provocation. The conference also approved the new definition of a museum. The fact it took 18 months prompted a colleague to ask 'How many museum professionals does it take to change a lightbulb?'
